Yvi Hyacinthe, LAc, MACHM (they/them) is an acupuncturist passionate about leveling disparity in American healthcare. From disability injustices to blatant medical racism, Yvi understands how the American healthcare system is designed to oppress. It is Yvi’s life’s mission to provide inclusive, affordable, and accessible healthcare to as many people as possible, which is reflected in their sliding scale, mask required clinic model.

Seeking insight to how trauma affects the body, Yvi studied acupuncture while navigating their personal health journey. Yvi graduated from Pacific College of Health and Science in 2024, where they obtained their Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, and became a board certified acupuncturist in 2025.

They spent their time in medical school treating patients at Chicago Women’s Health Center (CWHC), a healthcare collective with radical roots in community medicine, providing accessible acupuncture for women and trans folks alike. Yvi felt so at home at CWHC that they dedicated time weekly to volunteer at the clinic after their internship came to a close.

At Rush University’s Supportive Oncology unit, Yvi served as an intern providing acupuncture to cancer patients undergoing treatment. They continued cultivating their gentle yet effective acupuncture technique, gaining comprehensive experience treating patients with complicated medical histories.

Yvi has personal experience navigating the U.S.’s for-profit medical system while being immunocompromised. They are no stranger to chronic illness, pain, and the frustrations that come with the limitations of disability. This deep understanding is reflected via empathy and compassion in their acupuncture practice, as well as diligent masking practices in their day to day life.

Outside of the clinic, Yvi enjoys spending time with their cat, Apollo, their girlfriend, Steph, and their close friends, who they are intimately in community with. Yvi finds joy in hobbies such as reading, making music, cycling, riding their motorcycle, playing dress up, and pole dancing.
